Listen "Mic'd Up EP. 5 - Sun Rose Ironshell"
Episode Synopsis
Listen to the audio from host Tamika “Mika” Gadsden's video conference with South Dakota based artist, educator and activist, Sun Rose Ironshell. Here the two women discuss the #MMIW Movement (Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women), the historical disenfranchisement of indigenous communities and we learn what the designation “Pre-American” means to Sun Rose.
This Conversation is timely given the work currently being done by the leaders at YWCA Greater Charleston leading up to their June 9th vigil that sheds light on the human trafficking epidemic in South Carolina.
