There are so many ways power can be abused, some blatant some subtle. There is physical power, power of status or of stature or even power of knowledge. We are sometimes not aware of the power others perceive us to have and of how easily we can abuse that power unintentionally. The Torah despises the abuse of power. We also learn a beautiful story of one who had power over poor people but instead of asserting his authority, he treated them with kindness and generosity teaching us to validate the feelings of loss others might experience before attempting to intervene.
