Listen "SERMON- Disordered Worship"
Episode Synopsis
Everyone is guilty of disordered worship because apart from God, we are morally rebellious at our worst (See Romans 1:18). Even as Christians, we are still dealing with the remaining corruption of our flesh. But we can be fundamentally sincere worshippers because we are being transformed by the Spirit and have a new nature that desires to please God. Mark 10:17-22 is a helpful passage to examine some of the dangers of disordered worship. Here we find a man with a tender conscience who wanted to know from Jesus what he had to do to inherit eternal life. We discover three clear attitudes of his heart that can help us define our own struggle with disordered worship. It has nothing to do with style, musical preference, liturgical dress, formality, or informality but has everything to do with the idols of our own heart and an accurate perception- both of ourselves and the character of God.
