El grupo musical “Simple Minds” se formó en Escocia, en el año 1977. En una primera formación, los componentes de la banda eran los músicos, Brian McGee en la batería, Mick McNeil en los teclados, Derek Forbes, en el bajo y sus fundadores, Jim Kerr y Charlie Burchill, cantante y guitarrista de la banda, respectivamente.
