Secularists and even Christians appear to be torn between their reliance on democracy or the resort to revolution as they see democracy fails them. No one likes the division because it means they are losing influence over the other side. That would be less of a worry if the prospect of the other side creating a revolution before they do did not haunt both left and right. There is a third and better option but so far people on both left and right have pinned their hopes on democracy and if things get too bad, revolution.
