The first games of Round 2 for four more teams in the Stanley Cup Playoffs led to another overtime finish and another game out of hand by the end. The Carolina Hurricanes started their series with the New York Rangers with a comeback in the third period. Carolina started the third period down 1-0 to the Rangers, but scored a goal in the last 20 minutes and then Ian Cole ended the game with a game-winner to give the Hurricanes a lead in the series.In the late game, the Calgary Flames would not stop scoring against the Edmonton Oilers.
