In our second episode we welcome back to the pack Special Agent Zak Mercado. In 2013, he earned a commission into the US Army Reserves from the University of New Mexico Army ROTC. Upon graduation CPT Mercado commissioned into the United States Army Reserve as an Engineer Officer serving in various reserve units in New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and California. CPT Mercado was mobilized to active duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. CPT Mercado was medically retired from the USAR in April 2021 after an injury sustained in the line of duty. CPT Mercado joined the FBI in 2015 as a member of the Special Surveillance Group, later served as a Staff Operations Specialist, and ultimately became a Special Agent in 2023.
