Listen "Shōchikubai"
Episode Synopsis
It’s the new year, and there are 🎍 kadomatsu everywhere. These decorations always have pine and bamboo, but there are also usually some floral element like plum blossoms. Together, these three plants are called shōchikubai, which derives from the “three friends of winter” concept commonly found in old Chinese paintings.
A reminder that you can purchase my Japanese flower cards which feature these three plants. There are three editions and a box set containing two.
