Listen "Through His Eyes - part 2"
Episode Synopsis
The whole point of Jesus saying to us, “I am the truth” in tandem with our saying, “Jesus is Lord” is that in submission to him we begin to interact with him as the sole interpreter to our hearts of absolutely everything.
Jesus alone interprets God to us.
Jesus alone interprets our past, present, and future experiences to us.
Jesus alone interprets other people’s words and actions to us along the lines of whatever will help us cowork with him in helping them.
When we relate to him in that way, his Spirit then causes all our emotions, reactions, and behaviors to be spot on. He produces in us perfectly fitting responses to God, others, our past, and our present.
Unsatisfactory emotions or actions reveal that we reverted to listening to ourselves as the interpreter of what’s gone on or is going on. Such emotions or behaviors serve as a important “red flags” that alert us to our mistaken roll.
The prayer then is, “Jesus, how do you see this? I do not care about how I or anyone else sees this. You interpret it to me.”
Hence the vital importance of creating an atmosphere within of praise and thanksgiving or of intercession, or abject inner silence or complete attentiveness when listening to someone or reflecting on something.
