Episode Synopsis

The greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all her strength, and with all our mind. Therefore, the greatest sin has to do with not loving the Lord with all that we are. That is the sin behind all sins.
Loving God involves two things like the two chambers of a beating heart: trust and obedience. Both of these are embodied in one word: faith. That is to say, the only kind of faith through which we are saved from our sins is a trust in God that expresses itself in love.
In the Garden of Eden, Satan attacked Eve's trust in God by leading her to believe that God was actually shorting her on what was most fulfilling for her. Once she accepted that reasoning, disobedience was easy for we all know how easy it is to sidestep God’s counsel and go with what we think is best for us.
Eve chose to do what she thought most fulfilling which resulted in disobedience instead of adopting a humble trust in God that only He knows what's best for her and which would have resulted in obedience.
And so with us, the antidote to Adam and Eve’s choice is this: faith — that is — trustful obedience while relying on God’s all-sufficient help.
