(Some personally helpful thoughts that came to me today.  I write the first couple of paragraphs as if Jesus were speaking to me.  In the last two I reflect on those thoughts.)
“Think of what it means for you to live under my blessing: it means everyone you think of, contact, pray for is blessed by me through you. That is unfailingly so when your heart is pure, that is, when your singular concern is to be all you can be to affirm the preciousness of others to me and lift them into my arms.
"And keep in mind that who you are in the presence of another is shaped “off site.” It is being decided by what most occupies your thoughts behind the ebb and flow of the days activities. Is your mind and heart orientated to “things above” or to “earthly things” — to what most matters to God or to some time-bound interest?"
So I ask myself — how important that is to me? Do I really want to think or do anything that would mean someone I stood to benefit in a one-of-a-kind, opportune moment remains unblessed?” And every moment is a one-of-a-kind, opportune moment, so not a moment can be trifled with.
And what matters most to God? That I constantly experience the joy of Jesus’s presence and friendship in the knowledge that he is making everything right in my life, and to where I freely talk with him about all that’s on my heart, and abide in his counsel and peace.
