1 Corinthians 9:24 (NIV) — “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”
Next to a one-of-a-kind heart to heart friendship with each of us, I believe the greatest gift God gives us every moment of the day is the opportunity to allow his influence to flow through us.   
Everything else in our lives is merely context.  
However, within the context, we face a steady stream of things we like and don’t like.  Why?  
Because it is essential for strengthening our hold on Spirit-enabled stick-to-itiveness.  That is to say, these things give us a chance to grow in becoming less vulnerable to letting life’s pleasures or difficulties distract us from winning the prize.  What prize?  That of an uninterrupted flow through us of God’s influence.
