It’s not our actual sin that’s our biggest problem, it is believing the lie of thinking we can stay quiet about it, deal with it on our own, and eventually come out victorious.
Whereas the apostle James writes, “Be confessing … your sins to one another for your own benefit, and be praying for one another that you may be healed. …” James 5:16 (Wuests Translation)
We only know that the power of that lie has been broken when we consistently confess our sins to a trusted friend.
