Listen "Jay Sheldon - Creating Important Stuff"
Episode Synopsis
My guest is Jay Sheldon, a professional cinematographer, host of the Miscellaneous Important Stuff podcast, and fellow all around creative. After receiving a video camera for Christmas at the age of 14, Jay decided that he wanted to pursue a career in film and video. He went on to earn degrees in both Film and Video Production and Graphic Design from Oklahoma City Community College.
Jay has honed his skills in working professionally as an eMedia Specialist, Multimedia Coordinator, and for the past 5 years as a cinematographer and editor at Insight Creative Group – where he gets to combine his love of creative collaboration and storytelling through video.
In 2014, Jay was awarded with a Heartland Emmy for co-directing, shooting, and editing the short documentary, 'Going Dark: The Final Days of Film Projection'.
When not working, Jay spends his time playing soccer, screen printing, playing guitar, watching Netflix, making balloon animals, learning yoyo tricks, reading, and looking for new hobbies that he can’t make time for.
