Story by Vsevolod Garshin( as translated from Russian by Captain Rowland Smith).Garshin was a commissioned officer in the Russain Army, in the service of Ivan the Great. Before dying at the age of 33 in 1988, he had authored some of the most memorable stories in Russian Literature. 'The Signal' is a particularly moving story, and we plan to do it some time soon.This story is for children. But like all the good stories for children, it is good for adults too.
