I hear and read so much about how expectations ruin relationships. When I first read and heard this, I thought that it was very misleading and more harmful to our happiness within relationships. So, I decided to really look into what expectations really are and after reading, I thought to myself, is it expectations alone that ruin relationships or is it unhealthy, unfair, & unrealistic expectations that destroy and ravage relationships? This is where standards come in. Setting a foundation for what we know we need and desire in relationships. Our standards become guides that lead us to what we want and what we don't want.
