Today’s word of the day is snooze.

Snooze is a doing word therefore it is a verb.

To snooze is to have a short, light sleep, usually during the day.

An example of the word snooze used as a verb in a sentence would be:

I'm going to snooze before the meeting, I need to recharge my batteries.

Or, She took the opportunity to snooze while her calender was clear.

Snooze can also be used as a noun with two meanings. Firstly it is a short, light sleep. Secondly it something boring or tedious.

An example of the word snooze used as a noun in a sentence would be:

They laid down in the grass to have a quick snooze.

Or, The presentation was a snooze, nobody was paying attention and some people were even sleeping.

Synonyms: doze, nap, rest, siesta, catnap.
