Today’s word of the day is preparation.

Nouns are words that we use to name things. It can be a person, a place, a thing, an
idea or concept. Therefore, preparation is a noun.

Preparation has four meanings. Firstly it is the action or process of preparing or being prepared for use or consideration. Secondly it is something that is done to get ready for an event or undertaking. Thirdly it is a substance that is specially made, usually food or medicine. Lastly it is a specimen that has been prepared for scientific or medical examination.

An example of preparation used as a noun in a sentence would be:

Her preparation of the contract was flawless, she made no mistakes.

A lot of preparation will be necessary to pass the test.

You can buy an effective preparation from your local pharmacy to combat headaches.

Or, They placed the preparation under the microscope to examine it.
