Today’s word of the day is integrate.

Integrate is a doing word therefore it is a verb.

Integrate has five meanings. Firstly it is to combine something, be combined or willingly combine with another thing in order to form a whole. Secondly it is to bring people or groups into a social group or institution with equal participation or membership. Thirdly it is to come into equal partnership or membership of a social group or institution. Fourthly it is to desegregate, usually racially. Lastly, in maths, it is to find the integral of.

An example of the word integrate used in a sentence would be:

We tried to integrate the new ideas into the plan but they just didn't fit.

They wanted to integrate the students from different subjects during lunchtime to discourage segregation.

She did very well to integrate herself into the group despite being the newest member, it seemed like they had all been friends for years.

The protests were successful and the school was forced to integrate.
