Today’s word of the day is galactic.

Nouns are words that we use to name things. It can be a person, a place, a thing, an
idea or concept. Therefore, galactic is a noun.

Galactic has two definitions. Firstly it describes something as being related to a galaxy or galaxies. Secondly, in astronomy, it indicates something as being measured relative to the galactic equator.

An example of galactic used as a noun in a sentence would be:

Most of the stars in the galactic atmosphere are billions of years old.

Or, The south galactic pole is perpendicular to the galactic equator.
