Today’s word of the day is clarify.
Clarify is a doing word therefore it is a verb.
Clarify has two definitions. Firstly it is to make a statement or situation less confused and easier to understand. Secondly it is to melt butter in order to separate out the water and milk solids.
An example of the word clarify used in a sentence would be:
Could you clarify the plan for me, I don't understand exactly what we're supposed to be doing.
Or, You can clarify the butter by using a spoon to skim off the foam.
Synonyms: illuminate, explain, simplify, purify, refine.
Antonyms: confuse, obscure, complicate, mystify, cloud.
