Today’s word of the day is bakery.

Nouns are words that we use to name things. It can be a person, a place, a thing, an
idea or concept. Therefore, bakery is a noun.

Bakery has two meanings. Firstly it is a place that makes and sells baked goods such as bread and cakes. Secondly it is used to refer to baked goods such as bread or cakes.

An example of bakery used as a noun in a sentence would be:

My local bakery makes the best cookies, I go there almost every day.

Or, The table was completely laid with mouthwatering bakery.

Synonyms: bakehouse, patisserie, cakery, pudding, dessert.
