Listen "Gain Focus & Energy for the Things That Matter with: Daniel Kelly"

Episode Synopsis

According
to a national survey conducted in early May 2022 in the United States,
one-third of men do not think they need annual health screenings.
Close to
two-thirds of the individuals surveyed believe they are “naturally healthier
than others in general.” Furthermore, almost two out of five of the
participants shared that they often turn to social media for medical advice.
The Harris Poll conducted this online survey for Orlando
Health in Orlando, FL. The market research and
consulting firm interviewed 893 U.S. adult males aged 18 and older.

At 28 years
old, I had a flourishing finance career in London. It was great: my work was
rewarding, both intellectually and financially. But it was also pretty damn
stressful. Commutes, client dinners, long hours, early mornings, lack of sleep,
lunches at your desk, and job pressure… It takes a toll on you.
As I looked
around me, I saw colleagues who were extremely successful in their careers,
making tons of money—whose health was in tatters. I was determined not to go
down the same path. I didn’t drink, smoke, or take drugs. I trained hard, and
ate well. I was in a good place—or so I thought. Then I took a blood test, and
my whole world was turned upside down:
I had the
testosterone levels of an 80-year-old man. The result blindsided me. Once the
shock wore off, it became apparent how much my lack of testosterone had
impacted my life:
I battled
grinding anxiety all day, every day. Depression was a familiar friend, and no
matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t shake it. I struggled to make any
meaningful progress in the gym, despite training hard. And to top it off, my
sex drive was non-existent.
Little did I
realize, these were hallmark symptoms of low testosterone.
He joined me
this week to tell me more.
