Listen "Finally Allowing Yourself to Live in the Moment with: Marc Paisant"
Episode Synopsis
There
is one admission millions of men across America are frightened and ashamed to
admit and it all starts with these three words. “I need help, when it relates
to their mental health journey.
In
2021, around 12 percent of men in the United States received mental health
treatment or counseling in the past year, according to Statista. Meanwhile These
stigmas are real and deeply affect men as nearly 1 in 10 men experience
depression or anxiety but less than half will receive treatment and more than 4
times as many men as women die by suicide every year.
Symptoms
of mental illness differ in men from women the Anxiety Disorders Association of
America reports.
Marc
Paisant is a Certified Personal Trainer and the creator and host of the
Relatively Normal podcast. He is also the host of the 6AMRun.com podcast. In
his show, he shares his experiences with ADHD, anxiety and depression. He shows
that no one is alone and there is always someone willing to listen and assist
when it comes to coping and managing all kinds of stress.
He
is an advocate for therapy and counseling and talks about his years of therapy
that he has used to manage his mental health. As a former collegiate athlete,
Marc uses physical fitness to assist with his mental health. He has learned
that both can be combined and used to help work through any life issue. His
goal is to inspire others to ask for help and to end the stigma when it comes
to mental health and awareness.
He
joined me this week to tell me more.
