Many rituals involve languages which are foreign to us, and they are languages which we are not well versed in. Although you can get benefit from not saying the words correctly, there is an added benefit from proper pronunciation and this becomes important, not to mention the respect for the language which is given when we learn how to pronounce the words properly. Also the power behind a language such as sanskrit is phenomenal.
