Listen "S2E7: On the Transfer and Application of Knowledge"
Episode Synopsis
It has often struck me, in my observations of the professional world and indeed within my own limited experiences, that there exists a peculiar gap between what we know and what we do. We humans are magnificent collectors of information, repositories of facts and theories that we gather with admirable diligence throughout our lives. Yet how curious it is that the possession of knowledge and its practical application should be such different matters entirely. I am reminded of the ancient distinction made by the Greeks, between *episteme* (knowledge in its theoretical form) and *phronesis* (the practical wisdom to apply such knowledge appropriately). This distinction, I believe, lies at the heart of our modern professional challenges.
