Listen "S2E27: On the Art of Transition: Reflections on Change and Transformation"
Episode Synopsis
I have observed, both in myself and others, a curious resistance to change despite its inevitability. We cling to familiar shores even as the tides of life pull us toward new waters. This resistance seems embedded in our nature – a preference for the known discomfort over the unknown possibility. Yet in my forty-seven years, I have weathered numerous transitions: from the scholastic life to that of a magistrate, from bachelorhood to marriage, from robust health to periods of illness, and from peace to times of civil unrest in our beloved France. Each passage has taught me something of the art of transformation that I shall endeavor to share here, not as one who has mastered this art, but as a fellow traveler on this winding road we call life.
