What's the line between managing for performance and people feeling monitored? It looks obvious on paper but is less so in the reality of those that are having the experience. This podcast was triggered by the news from the BBC that Barclays bank in the UK "says it has scrapped a system that tracked the time employees spent at their desks and sent warnings to those spending too long on breaks". The intent was good we are sure but in implementation, something got lost in the narrative.
