On a day that marks our Lord's triumphant crucifixion, Pastor Matt and Pastor Wade bring this timely message. In the this 10th installment of the Ancient Path Series, the Lord is rousing his body for war by examining the origin of the ancient hostilities in opposition to God and his plan of redemption through the nation of Israel. We learn that while opposition to God's plan often times comes in the form of many different hosts, it has the same origin and most definitely the same results. Ultimate failure. That is because we have a conquering King in Jesus who fought a bloody battle so that we might join in his victory! Is it just to conquer our personal sin that God sent his Son into the world? Of course not. What was accomplished on the cross was not just to atone for the sins of Israel or even the entire world. No, Christ gave himself over to death and wrought victory on the earth AND in the heavens. He tore down ancient hostilities, disarming them, and making a way for to become just like him in his campaign! We cannot stop at just overcoming sin, there is SO much more work to be done. We are called to defeat God's ancient adversaries through our trusting in Christ and make war! Rouse yourself! Live up to the high calling that is yours in Christ!
