If there were a Bible character who could identify with the pain of dashed hopes it has to be the Shunammite woman that the prophet Elisha encountered. Her story is found in 2 Kings 4 and its roller coaster ride of emotional and spiritual ups and downs. The Shunammite woman struggled through infertility and the death of a child. Even though she couldn’t see it at the time, she’s a great example of how God can turn brokenness into blessing.
