Authorities say firefighters got to the home on Kirkwood Road, near Eden Street, just after 1:30 p.m. Friday, to find both of its two stories engulfed in flames.
A Philadelphia Fire Department spokesperson said as firefighters worked to extinguish the large blaze, part of the house collapsed, and an all-hands call was made for other available fire units in the area to respond.
