Episode Synopsis

As it is said, the first of human needs is the certainty that comes from connectivity. Most of our fears come from the perceived lack of certainty. But when we fear that lack, we overlook the power of variety and once we could rely on the possibility of variety, the fear of uncertainty will be alleviated. Unfortunately, most people value certainty over variety; that’s why life is so boring. That’s why many of our dreams are left unfulfilled and we never get to reach our full potential. One thing most people regret at some point in their life is the missed opportunities but at the same time, people tend to put off many of their aspirations because of their inherent fear of failures or rejection. Most of us as humans are scared of being ostracised as being someone who could not make it as we believe our self-esteem is dependent on our achievements, social stars, abilities and accomplishments in life. But most of us fail to see that our self-esteem is quite an independent idea from our self worth as human beings which has nothing to do with being compared to others. It is rather the sense that you deserve to be alive, to be loved and cared for, you deserve to take space and it’s not about what we can have more or less of. So, this disillusioned fear of failure comes from losing sight of the fact that failure would come and it’s a process of success you can never avoid or skip. It’s only a learning experience. The one thing that causes the fear response in us which we subconsciously keep pushing down and keep doing the other things to get the dopamine response and a false realisation of achievement, is the one that we should look at to get done first as the highlight of the day.“Mistakes are painful when they happen but years later a collection of mistakes is called experience.”- Ray Kroc (Raymond Albert Kroc was an American businessman who purchased the fast-food company McDonald's in 1961 and served as its CEO from 1967 to 1973. Kroc is credited with the global expansion of McDonald's, turning it into the most successful fast-food corporation in the world)“I didn’t think I’d regret trying and failing. And I suspected I would always be haunted by a decision to try not at all.” - Jeff BezosSo, we should question ourselves why we are putting off our dreams for tomorrow and find reasons to justify the postponement. Let’s not avoid the essential undertaking rather face it and ride the tides. We would end up getting close to our realising our true potential.
