Listen "How Is Your Vineyard? Part 2 Emotions"
Episode Synopsis
Our FEELINGS and THOUGHTS are REAL but they are NOT always TRUE.
How are you doing? Really? How would you describe your current emotional state? Numb—Angry—Afraid—Anxious—Irritated—Unsettled?
Jesus DISPLAYED EMOTIONS...
He expresses GREIF as he looks over Jerusalem, people rejected God
He gets RIGHTEOUSLY ANGRY when religious leaders care more about rules than relationships
Jesus is OVERJOYED when the 72 disciples describe how God used them to further the kingdom
When Lazarus dies... Jesus weeps
In the garden —Jesus is discouraged, lonely, in spiritual anguish
God created humans with the emotions, thoughts, feelings, affections which are import to our lives and relationships.
Our EMOTIONS are not to RUN OUR LIVES... Our EMOTIONS come under the AUTHORITY of GOD as we come to LOVE Him and those around us... in the ways of Jesus... We don't IGNORE our EMOTIONS... we ENLIST them in order to become like Jesus...
3 Steps to Deal with Your Emotions
Acknowledge EXACTLY how you are FEELING
Take your EMOTIONS before the LORD
Align your FEELINGS with your FAITH
Philippians 4:4–7 - Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
