Listen "Episode 172 - Cosmic Conundrums"
Episode Synopsis
The current paradigm of physics is built upon two pillars: General Relativity (GR), which governs gravity and the large-scale structure of the cosmos, and Quantum Mechanics (QM), which governs the microphysical world of elementary particles and fundamental forces. While GR offers an elegantly accurate description of macroscopic gravitational interactions, it encounters profound limitations in extreme environments. Foremost among these limitations is the predicted existence of gravitational singularities—regions where density and curvature become infinite, leading to a collapse of predictability and the failure of physics as currently understood.
