Kelis Kaleopa'a is a Native-Hawaiian professional surfer from the island of O’ahu. She is one of Hawaiʻi’s top worldwide surfing competitors, and has been perfecting her craft on the beaches of Waikiki since she was born. In 2022 she became the women’s champion of the Vans US Open of Surfing in the longboarding division. In 2023 she won the Huntington Beach Longboard Classic and today is she currently the #2 ranked female longboard surfer in the world. In this episode we talk about growing up in Waikiki, falling in love with surfing, goals outside of surfing, the Hawaiian language, and so much more. Enjoy!
