Daniel 3:17-18The world is a fickle place. One minute Daniel and his friends are praised and promoted, the next, the three are being thrown into a furnace! Being able to stand in such times can only happen if we know who we are in Christ. During the crisis is not the time to learn one's faith is weak. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn't know how things would turn out, but they knew they wouldn't serve the king's created idol. The other takeaway from this event is, don't limit God and how He's going to act! Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were sure of one thing, they weren't worshipping the idol and that God would deliver them. What they didn't know was how and if you'd asked them about being able to walk around in the flames, that probably wouldn't have made their list.
