First, The plaintiff met the defendant on social media, and they quickly became best friends. She says she paid for the defendant to go on a birthday trip together, but then the defendant backed out a few weeks before they were supposed to leave. She’s suing for trip expenses and emotional distress. The defendant argues she gave the plaintiff plenty of warning that she couldn’t go. She’s countersuing for emotional distress.

Then, The plaintiff brings his son to court. He thinks his son could be an alcoholic. The plaintiff says the defendant wrecked his truck, so he’s suing for car parts. The defendant disagrees with his dad about having an alcohol problem. He doesn’t think he owes his father anything.
