Listen "Resurrection Sunday - 03.31.24"
Episode Synopsis
Why didn't God save Jesus from the cross? Did God turn His back on Jesus?
One of the last phrases that Jesus spoke while on the cross was "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"(Matthew 27:46) In our western understanding we might think that this was when Jesus had taken on all of the sin of the world and so God had to turn His back on Jesus, but Deuteronomy 31:8 tells us "The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
So what if I was to tell you that when Jesus called out with a loud voice, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?", that He was actually reminding His followers of His coming victory? Give this message a listen and then go read Psalm 22.
