Episode 11: Poetic Dreams, A Eulogy, & Overcoming Fear and Anxiety with SJ
Welcome to Journey Through The Dreamscape with me, Angelina Young!
For this week's episode, we have SJ joining us!
SJ is a poet from Jersey City who likes to create soundscapes in his work, incorporating various voices to make a more performative piece. His poem "Petulance" was a shortlisted selection for the University of Grimsby's Hammond House International Poetry Competition.
He is actively involved in the poetry community, moderating a weekly online poetry workshop with Jersey City Writers and co-producing the 2023 Jersey City Poetry Festival last summer. He is currently working on this year's festival. He lives in Jersey City Heights with his wonderful wife, 2 daughters, and 5 cats.
In this episode, we explore how SJ sees the world! We learn about his eulogy dream that turned into a poem and hear his thoughts about the healing art of poetry. We also discuss fear, anxiety, and ancestral trauma. I’m so excited for all of you to join us!
