- 1 - Talk about your earliest motorsport memories? Do you have any family members that have either mechanical or engineering backgrounds? Who was your motorsport idol you followed or looked forward to when you were a kid?
- 2 Tell our listeners more about the uni experience? Your favourite modules? Some of the practicals you’ve been able to do or be part of as a result of doing the course?
- 3 - The long-term goal is to become a data/performance engineer within a high-performance racing team . What do you feel would be the most rewarding part of the job?
- 4 - You mentioned wanting to work in a high-performance team, pick an F1 team and alternative motor racing team from a different motor racing discipline you’d like to work with?
- 5 - You did a stint as a trainee data engineer with VR Motorsport as a part of their Praga team within the Britcar Endurance Championship - very competitive racing series stating the likes of Jimmy Broadbent What were the most valuable things you learned from the experience, and how did you go about gaining the opportunity to do this one?
- 6 - in your time with VR motorsports you headed ECU monitoring, static pitstop calculations, fuel usage and driver coaching using both AIM data and video - could you talk to our listeners more about these individual roles? How easy it to coach and work with different personalities in drivers, if they have an ego, or their lacking confidence in the car/setup?
- 7 - Before we get into your other motor racing work experience, we want to glance over the importance of soft skills. Would you say the soft skills you gained from working in retail also transfer over to the work you’ve done on the motorsport side of things? Communication? Dealing with high-pressure situations? Having to report to more senior people within the team? Etc etc
- 8 - Idola Motorsport - Reliability Engineer - what was the highlight of this experience and would say the dynamics of this racing team were any different from those at VR Motorsports?
- 9 - Women in Motorsports - Hannah Schmitz (red bull lead head strategist) Bernie Collins (ex Aston Martin strategists), Ruth Buscombe (Ferrari, Haas and Alfa Romeo lead strategist), Stephanie Travers (lead engineer for Mercedes-AMG F1 with Petronas (for- how important is it to have these strong, successful women in positions of power within motor racing? What do you feel could be done to give people from less represented backgrounds more opportunities into the world of motor racing? Scholarships
