Even the Servant needed credentials. In His baptism at the Jordan, Jesus steps out of obscurity and into His Father’s mission—not with fanfare or earthly power, but in humility and obedience. In this passage we see His entrance, His example, and His exaltation. The Son of God identifies with sinners, standing in the water not because He needed repentance, but because He came to bear our sin and bring us life. The heavens open, the Spirit descends, and the Father declares His delight.
