The Columbus Blue Jackets made a splash during last season’s trade deadline season as they loaded up for a shot at glory in the playoffs. While things didn’t pan out quite as they had hoped, the Jackets eeked into the postseason and made history with their first round sweep over what many presumed would be the dominant and superior Tampa Bay Lightning. The Jackets don’t have any of their rentals from last season and may have lost Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky to unrestricted free agency, but they’re still finding ways to win. John Tortorella’s teams never lack a work ethic and that blue collar attitude has been paying off for them.
