In his new book 'Both sides of the goal: a history of football in Palestine and Arab-Jewish relations during the British Mandate' (original in Hebrew), tells the story of the emergence of football in Palestine and how the game was enjoyed, organized and exploited by both Arabs and Jews in Palestine during the British Mandate. Football was introduced at the end of the late Ottoman era through Christian institutions and in a few decades it became the most popular sport in Palestine. Omer, tells about the development of football and how it became an avenue reflecting Arab-Jewish relations in Mandatory Palestine.
