Just because we're hearing somebody talk, it doesn't necessarily mean we are actually listening to them. We can often be eager to give our pre-calculated response, instead of listening with compassion and patience. The true essence of listening is a test of our humility. Whilst listening with humility we'll not only be able to just listen to someones words, but go even deeper and tap into their feelings and emotions. Listening in this way will guide us towards listening to the divine that is in constant communication with us.
