In this podcast, I discuss some resume tips.The "Five Finger" approach to resume writing uses the thumb for our name and contact information at the top. Our index finger is used for the objective. Our third or middle finger is used for the Summary of Qualifications which lists the job skills that we have experiences in. The ring finger lists our previous jobs, with the most recent listed first (reverse chronological) and our 5th digit or pinky contains our completed education information. We must ensure that the resume sections are balanced and that all of the contents focus on the job being applied for because these are the goals of writing it. We must only address the job skills required in the announcement and the experience that we have in performing them. A new resume must be prepared for each job that we are applying for.
