Listen "Episode 22- It's a Lovely Time to Take Pause, Be Still and Look Back with appreciation for the hard"
Episode Synopsis
It's been quiet around here lately and frankly, i've been swimming against the current, feeling caught in the pull, making strokes inch by inch to get back to the shore. I use the analogy of water because I can relate to it love ocean, i love the water and it's sometimes baffling to me when i lay my head on the pillow at night how i am landlocked. but I feel the appreciation more when i get to visit the ocean instead of being near it every day. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself! But the heart of what i'm telling you it, I am constantly reminded that my todo list is not done yet and this begs the question, will we ever be?
Life comes at you fast, especially in the world we live in today and when you start adding in children, businesses and friendships there is a lot to take in, get done and do do do but what I really want to DO is to be.
Even if you don't see it in the moment, the most challenging times of your life, when you're forced to take a pause, be still and grow forward are often the moments before the best days. I want to leave a legacy and for me that means being able to live intentionally so that the impact I leave is lasting.
I want to take pause today and honor each of our stories that has lead us to where we are in our path and I can't think of a better way to close out the first season of the podcast than sharing why i am here today and some of the integral pieces of what got me here. why i am able to show up like i do and how i am working to live intentionally, it's not a race and their is no finish line, just a beautiful journey and i want to look around and enjoy the moments that make up my beautiful life.
One of the hardest days and ultimately led to the most trying months of my life was all part of a divine path that we were meant to follow. The road less traveled is typically tumultuous, makes your stomach twist and turn as you face uncertain terrain ahead and tests your faith. If you are willing to let go, let God and lean into your faith, oh how far you can grow.
Let's take a quick job back so I can catch you up. Two years ago, we went on our first family "vacation" when the twins were 1 month old.
This trip, led to the following post, sharing the real and hard reality that we were faced with in that moment. Sharing, vulnerably, honestly, without pause. Coming off of a twin pregnancy, throughout the pandemic, after having been forced to close our business for an extended period of time, bringing so much uncertainty and unknown, just like the rest of the world. It was hard. Our struggles were not more weighted than others but they were ours and when you are going through something hard, you expect the people who you love most to show up.
“Sounds like a lot of work”
This has changed the trajectory of so many things in out lives for the better, I can see that now but it was hard in the moment. Tune in to hear why and what happened next.
