Listen "The Wolverine of Vimy Ridge"
Episode Synopsis
Vimy Ridge, 1917. Canadian scout Silas Ward slips behind enemy lines and never returns. His unit marks him KIA—until three weeks later he emerges barefoot, uniform shredded, covered head-to-toe in someone else’s blood. He won’t speak a word. When asked how he survived, he only mutters: “A mountain tears easier than flesh. From that night on Ward carries no rifle, takes no rations, and prowls the trenches like a ghost. A sentry swears he watched him drag a German soldier from a dugout with one hand—no struggle, just a wet crunch. Timber braces along the line appear ripped in half, as if bent by a machine press. After Armistice, Ward vanishes into the Yukon. For decades hunters whisper about a shirtless man gliding through waist-deep snow, wounds sealing overnight, eyes reflecting like a predator’s. In 1964 a ranger photographs fresh human prints beside a wolf carcass—ribs snapped like twigs—at minus-30 °C. The file is tagged “Silas Ward?”. Regeneration myth or feral veteran? This episode dissects patrol logs, medical reports, and modern sightings to decide whether Silas Ward still stalks the mountains he once claimed he could shred with his bare hands.
