Listen "Finding Joy in Simplicity"
Episode Synopsis
There’s a story told of a fisherman who lived in a small village. Every morning, he would fish just enough to feed his family and spend the rest of his day resting, laughing with his children, and talking with his neighbours. One day, a wealthy businessman visiting the village said, “If you caught more fish, you could sell them, make more money, buy more boats, and retire rich!”
The fisherman smiled and asked, “And then what would I do?”
The man replied, “You could relax, enjoy your family, and live peacefully.”
The fisherman laughed gently, “But that’s what I’m already doing.”
In a world that constantly pushes us to do more, have more, and become more, we often forget that contentment is not found in abundance, but in gratitude. The Apostle Paul reminds us that true joy and peace come when our hearts are centred on godliness, not greed.
