Listen "A Need To Regulate Streaming Platforms?"
Episode Synopsis
Last month, home minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail shared that he was agreeable to the idea of regulating streaming platforms like Netflix, following a concern from a PAS MP of platforms that broadcasted Islamophobic content, and shows protraying LGBTQ relationships. There's been some pushback from creators and creatives in the industry, so we get into what it would mean for streaming platforms to be regulated, especially in the digital world, and how it would stifle creative expression.
