The old one was an epic fail-- two divorces, two stints in jail, four tours in rehab, alienated children. His college degree was wasted on a career of countless, short-term menial jobs. Now, clean and sober (mostly), he has come into a chunk of inheritance-- retirement money.What could go wrong in the fresh environment of Florida's Nature Coast? The temptations of social life in a seedy trailer park community? The depredations of the Great Recession? A girlfriend's biker son? Increasingly volatile weather? How about all of the above? ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Chris Dungey is a retired auto worker living in Lapeer, Michigan. He has written short stories all of his adult life. His fiction has been published in small press periodicals and electronic media on 70 occasions over the years. He currently has twelve stories looking for homes while he works on a Florida novel. The forthcoming "We Won't be Kissing"; Stories, follows his 2014 collection, "The Pace-Lap Blues and Other Tales from the Seventies."Born in Sarnia, Ontario, Dungey spent most of his youth in Imlay City, Michigan. Upon graduation from high school in 1967, He attended college at St.Clair Community College in Port Huron. He returned to school, finally taking a degree in History from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1976. While occasionally substitute teaching during times of lay-off, he could not turn his back on fifteen years of seniority at General Motors. He retired to much more subbing in 2000.Mr. Dungey continues his life-long love of auto racing with camping visits to several sports-car road-races each year. He loves to hike (despite a knee replacement and ankle fusion), bicycle, cut firewood to feed his two woodstoves, In the past decade, Dungey has acquired a strong love of soccer, He follows Detroit City FC and Flint City Bucks FC with a near religious fervor. He spends too much time in Starbucks, like many his age, but finds it to be a productive atmosphere. He is a long-time member of a Presbyterian choir and the Flint Area Writer's Club--not quite mutually exclusive organizations, and hopes never to lose his love of reading and, more particularly, the writing of enjoyable literary fiction.Learn More at https://www.dkpwriter.com/indiereadsaloudseasonfour
